Meals on Wheels Program Impacted by Recent Overnight Fire
You may have heard that there was a major fire Tuesday night in one of the warehouse buildings on Wheeler Avenue in the City’s West End. Among those affected was Jeffery’s Catering, the company that prepares the food for our Meals on Wheels clients. The City’s Department of Community and Human Services and SSA are working together to assure continued delivery of meals to participating residents. SSA will continue to deliver meals daily to all of our clients. SSA is grateful to the first responders, community partners, and volunteers who have come together in response to this incident. Also to Marshall Hespe, SSA’s Director of Nutrition Programs, and SSA staff who are doing a terrific job in making sure Meals on Wheels continue to be delivered to our older homebound residents.
