For those struggling to pay for rent or food, an umbrella can be a luxury.

A simple trip to the grocery store can be daunting when walking to the bus, pushing a stroller with a child, or for the elderly in the pouring rain. Without protection from an umbrella, people become wet and sick.

The Church of St. Clement in Alexandria (1701 N. Quaker Lane) is collecting umbrellas during the month of April for our neighbors in need. The umbrellas will be given to local nonprofits for distribution.

Please encourage your colleagues, friends, and other community members to spring into action by donating an umbrella!
