SSA had a wonderful day for its “drive-thru” appreciation event to thank all our volunteers, including those who have had to temporarily step down due to the pandemic. A big thanks to First Baptist Church for the use of its parking lot and to Jeffery’s Catering and Maribeth’s Bakery for the delicious food. SSA staff and board members were on hand to greet volunteers. City officials including Mayor Justin Wilson, Council members Amy Jackson and Del Pepper, Police Chief Mike Brown, Sheriff Dana Lawhorne, Director of the Department of Community and Human Resources Kate Garvey, and Division of Aging and Adult Services Director Terri Lynch all stopped by to hand out lunches and treats and sincere thanks – in a socially distanced manner!
