Senior Health and Fitness Fair – May 18, 10 am to 12 noon – Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson Street in Old Town

This annual event features cooking demonstrations, blood pressure and glaucoma screenings; and exercises and meditation for older adults. Rhonda Williams, LCSW, with the city’s Department of Community and Human Services is the guest speaker and her talk – “Springing Forward – With Emotional and Physical Well Being” is about the importance of maintaining good health as we age. The Alexandria Health Department will be offering COVID-19 vaccine boosters.

Senior Law Day – June 3, 9 am – 12 noon – First Baptist Church – 2932 King Street “Expect the Unexpected – When Life Throws you a Curveball”

This year’s Senior Law Day, sponsored by the Alexandria Bar Association and Senior Services of Alexandria will cover the basics of estate planning, late marriage and gray divorce, scenarios involving adult children, and housing options as you age. Senior Law Day is free and open to the public.
