The City of Alexandria invites the community to join the 50th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Program on Sunday, January 15, 4 p.m. at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial (101 Callahan Drive, Alexandria, VA). The event is hosted by Alexandria’s Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Planning Committee. Together, we will honor the life and legacy of Dr. King and celebrate 50 years of dedication and service.

How to Make Paper Flowers / Como Hacer Flores de Papel – Thursday, January 19 at 10:30 am at St. Martin de Porres Senior Center

Senior Services of Alexandria is teaming up with the Alexandria Library and St. Martin de Porres Senior Center to bring a fun workshop to center participants and anyone else who would like to join! The paper flower workshop will be on Thursday, January 19 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Martin de Porres Senior Center, 4650 Taney Ave. Andrea Castillo and Patricia Amaya with the Alexandria Library will teach us different techniques to create paper flowers to bring more color into our lives! Instruction will be provided in both English and Spanish.
