Old Town Gingerbread Decorating – Sunday, December 17, 1-6 p.m. – Gadsby’s Tavern Museum

Learn about local architecture as you decorate a flat “façade” (front) based on historic buildings around Gadsby’s Tavern Museum. Ticket includes one flat gingerbread façade, all the supplies needed to decorate, and admission to the museum. Inspiring samples highlight architectural details you can recreate in candy and search for in the neighborhoods on your way home. Event ideal for families or adult groups; up to four people welcome per ticket. Select a start-time for decorating when purchasing your kit. Hot cider and spiked cider available for purchase during the event.

Senior Services of Alexandria’s “Empowering Caregivers” – Strategies and Resources for Caregivers of Older Adults – Wednesday, January 17 – 10:30 am at Beatley Library, 5005 Duke Street

Senior Services January 17th event will feature local organizations talking about the many resources available to caregivers. Speakers include: Insight Memory Care, Cherry Blossom PACE, Alexandria City Adult Day Services, Regional Older Adult Facilities Dementia Support Team (RAFT), and Belleview Medical Partners. If you are a caregiver or know of someone who is, please spread the word about this event.

Beyer Subaru “Share the Love Campaign” – November 16 – January 2

Senior Services of Alexandria (SSA) is Beyer Subaru’s hometown charity for the “Share the Love” Campaign this year. Customers at Beyer Subaru (7416 Richmond HWY) can choose to “Share the Love” locally to non-profit partners like SSA! For every Subaru purchased or leased from November 16 to January 2, Subaru and its retailers will donate a minimum of $300. We thank Beyer Subaru and Subaru of America for supporting Alexandria’s seniors!
