This month, the National Gallery of Art is offering its Summer Story Series entirely in ASL. Stories in Art, designed for children ages 4-7, introduces kids to artists through storytelling, observation, and hands-on activities. This summer, the story series is entitled “Discover Dutch Art.” Participants will  read children’s books, look at 17th century Dutch art, and make a souvenir to commemorate each adventure. Children will receive a passport to document their participation in each session attended. At the end of the series, those who have participated in all four 60 minute sessions will receive a prize. Families who use ASL are welcomed to attend sessions led by a deaf guide on Sundays at 3:30 from July 10th-July 31st.

The National Gallery of Art also offers tours in ASL on the second Sunday of each month at 1:00, and video highlights of the West Building are available both online and in the Gallery.
