Senior Services of Alexandria - Board

ALEXANDRIA—Senior Services of Alexandria (SSA) welcomed new board members at its annual meeting and luncheon as well as honoring retiring board members who have completed their terms.  The meeting was hosted by Brandywine Senior Living, a new assisted living and memory care facility, located in Alexandria’s West End.

Gerry Cooper, SSA’ Board Chair paid tribute to retiring board members:  Lynnwood Campbell, Warner Moore, Alice Rogalski, Donna Shaw and Carolyn Wilder.

“These board members have worked tirelessly to support Senior Services and the seniors it serves.  They are a special group of men and women who continue to make Alexandria a great place for seniors, said Gerry Cooper, SSA’s Board Chair.”

Incoming SSA Board Chair Jack Fannon welcome new board members:  Maribeth Bersani, Tom Roberts, Mindi Schools and Karen Skeens.

Maribeth Bersani has worked in the field of aging for over 30 years and currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Argentum, the largest trade association representing senior living providers.

Tom Roberts recently retired from a long and successful dental practice in Alexandria.  He is a past president of the Rotary Club of Alexandria and serves as a deacon and elder at the Old Presbyterian Meeting House.

Mindi Schools started her career at M&T bank in 2009, serving as the Alexandria Branch Manager for the past six years.  She is active with the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce and Volunteer Alexandria.

Karen Skeens is the Executive Director of Goodwin House at Home.  She spent over 20 years in the newspaper industry.  In 2008 she joined Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads as Marketing Director and was promoted in 2013 to her current position.

“We welcome these new board members to Senior Services of Alexandria.  This upcoming year will be an exciting one as we launch SSA’s newest program, Caring Connection, providing short-term personalized health and safety monitoring for medically vulnerable seniors,” stated Jack Fannon, SSA’s Incoming Board Chair.
