Senior Services of Alexandria and the Alexandria Bar Association’s sixth annual Senior Law Day will took place on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Alexandria (2932 King Street). Over 200 participants attended, making this year’s event our most well-attended yet.

This year’s Senior Law Day, entitled “Determining Your Destiny: Understanding the Need to Plan,” featured local experts from the Alexandria Bar Association, local estate and financial planners and geriatric care managers. They discussed the importance of planning for the future as well as knowing what legal instruments and documents everyone should have in place and what can happen if you are not prepared. Presenters also discussed ways to take an active role in later-in-life decisions, including making arrangements to stay in your home, how to plan for different living situations, etc.

Many thanks to each of the speakers who shared their expertise with participants and the sponsors who made the event possible. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
