Senior Services of Alexandria was featured in two articles of the July edition of the Zebra Press. The first “Senior Academy: Calling All Seniors 60+” was written by SSA Director of Communications MaryAnne Beatty. SSA’s annual Senior Academy is designed much like the Alexandria Police Academy and Citizens Academy, though geared specifically for Alexandria’s older residents. This year, the four-week program will begin on September 6th and run on Wednesday morning through September 27th. Space is limited, so be sure to register soon! For the full article, see page 41 of this month’s Zebra.

The second article, also written by MaryAnne Beatty, announces a new grant received by SSA’s AniMeals program. AniMeals, which provides pet food and supplies to Alexandria seniors with cats, dogs, birds, and more, will greatly benefit from the support of this Meals on Wheels America grant. To learn more about the AniMeals program and what this funding means for it, see page 41 of this month’s Zebra.
