Senior Services of Alexandria’s Groceries to Go program was included in a story by Consumer Reporter Susan Hogan on NBC4. In “Pilot Program to Allow SNAP Participants to Have Groceries Delivered,” Hogan speaks with Maryland resident David Martin, who is wheelchair bound and relies on SNAP benefits. For Martin, going to the grocery store can be a whole-day affair, and his inability to use SNAP to pay the delivery fees required by stores’ home delivery options makes buying groceries online cost prohibitive.
